What is Deep Sleep?

Sleep is important for various aspects of brain function. This includes cognition, concentration, productivity, and performance.

Deep sleep is the stage of sleep you need to feel refreshed when you wake up in the morning. Unlike rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, deep sleep is when your body and brain waves slow down. It's hard to wake from deep sleep, and if you do, you may feel particularly groggy.

Deep sleep is the most essential of all for feeling rested and staying healthy. The average healthy adult gets roughly 1 to 2 hours of deep sleep per 8 hours of nightly sleep.

  1. Power down your devices.

  2. Get the right temperature for your bedroom.

  3. Exercise.

  4. Pink noise.

  5. Stick with your natural sleep-wake cycle.

  6. Follow a bedtime ritual.

I know in the current world stressful days are the normal, but do your best to destress before getting into bed for the night. Stress will lead to a restless night and you will not gain those valuable deep sleep hours you need to preform at your best.

So before you sit to get started for working from home... think... lets get this sleep thing right!
